1997 Champions

Bridgewater Blaze
Ralph Anderson
1997 was the first season in CFFFL history. The draft took
place in August and was conducted in an online message board/chat room over two
nights. The draft lasted quite a while, as the page had to be refreshed to
see the new messages. It was painful, but the only way to conduct a draft
with 16 people from many geographical locations.
The first season was free, and there was no prize other than
bragging rights. Ralph Anderson, owner of the Bridgewater Blaze, took home
the first CFFFL Championship. Ralph would not come back to defend his
title as the league voted to become fee based with prizes awarded.
