Treasure Coast Sunday Punch
Ed Gribben

The Treasure Coast Sunday Punch had a magical run in the playoffs defeating division rivals CAR and PBC to get the Cyber Bowl where they met another rival in BAY, powered by Ladainian Tomlinson.  Tomlinson had scored 2 or more TD's in 8 consecutive games, but failed to reach the end zone when it really mattered.  That and owner Jack Grant's decision to pull De'shaun Foster in favor of Troy Williamson led to an 8 point loss, 61-53.  Foster scored 8 more points than Williamson's 0, which would have ended Cyber Bowl X in a 61-61 tie.  BAY would have won the tiebreaker.

TRC was forced to put both starting WR's on the IR in weeks 14 (Hines Ward) and 15 (Darrell Jackson).  Marty Booker and Mark Clayton were added to patch the roster.  Booker scored 16 points in week 14, but was injured in week 15, forcing TRC to go to WR #5, Vincent Jackson, who started the year in TRC's 3 WR set, for the Cyber Bowl.  Clayton scored 14 and Vincent Jackson scored 16, earning Cyber Bowl X MVP honors.  It was TRC's 2nd CFFFL championship.

SC had a very good run during the 2006 season, winning 9 straight games, tying the 2nd longest winning streak in league history.  SC secured a playoff berth after just 9 weeks.  Injuries would ravage the team (McNabb/Portis/Horn) and SC could not get out of the first round of the playoffs.

Early in the 2006 season, HKS continued its long losing streak, breaking the record and setting a new mark of 22 in a row.  In week 6, a member of HKS's defense was caught searching for the team's first win in almost two seasons.  He had to dig deep, but he would find it a week later.

Hey Vince, pick a winner for HKS!!
